Building Muscle

Oct 20, 2022

One of my favorite actors, Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson, was doing a promotion on his latest movie on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. For the movie Black Adam, he was required to wear a body suit and show his muscles. The original body suit was padded to exaggerate his physique of well-defined built. Dwayne Johnson decided that Black Adam would be his best film ever, and he would be in his best shape ever. He worked hard to build muscles and requested the padding to be removed from the body suit.

If you are familiar with what Dwayne Johnson looks like, you know why he used to go by the ring name “The Rock”. He is known for his 6-foot-5, muscle-packed body. To keep in shape, he works out regularly. To be in the best shape of his life, he exercises even more to be the best version of himself.

I admire Dwayne Johnson for his work ethic. His attitude of wanting to be the best version possible is something I greatly respect. There are several things I learned from Dwayne Johnson.

Building our thinking muscle is like building body muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it becomes. Once you achieve the desired body muscle built, you have to continue a maintenance regimen, that is, to continue to exercise on a regular basis. If Dwayne Johnson completely halts from exercising or body building, his body will be unrecognizable in a short period of time. Once we rewire our brain to think in a better way that serves us, we have to continue to practice it. Otherwise, there will be “brain muscle” atrophy.

The right attitude gets us results. If we concentrate to be the best that there can be, our minds will come up with ways to achieve that. When we are committed, our brain is activated. We will find the driving forces of focus and determination to achieve our goals.

Building muscles is not an easy task, but if you keep at it, if you stay long enough, you will see the desirable results. This applies to both body muscles and brain muscles.

Always have service in mind. Dwayne Johnson decided to be the best version of himself so that he could show up the best way possible to serve others in the way he knows best – acting in a movie. Exercise our brain muscle to keep serving others a priority. Do not focus on how we may embarrass ourselves, or how we are not good enough (what does not good enough mean anyway?).

Be an example of what is possible. Dwayne Johnson did not born with well-defined muscles. He worked hard and did routine exercises to achieve the kind of body he wanted. Then he entered the maintenance phase to keep up with the physical demands of his body. He paid attention to his diet. He did not put random food into his body. This applies to our brain muscles also. What we choose to put into our mind determines what kind of results we will get. It is important to surround ourselves with our tribe, with people who have similar values. For more brain growth, it is vital to be immersed in an environment with tremendous nurture, care and love. Remove any toxic thoughts from our minds.

Mind muscles are not built in one day. Sometimes the journey can be tough and treacherous. The more we exercise our brain, the stronger the desired brain muscles are. After our brain muscles are fully built and mature, we enter the maintenance phase.

If you are ready to build your desired brain muscles, to be the best version of yourself, I am here for you. I will help you determine the brain muscles to build, and I will offer the best maintenance regimen for you. Let us build some brain muscles together to be the best, to handle negative emotions, and to serve others.
